Northeastern Jr College

Company Description
Northeastern Junior College, founded in 1941 in Sterling, Colorado, has been helping students build their futures for more than 80 years. As a residential college, Northeastern combines the best of both worlds: the personal feel of a close-knit campus with the opportunities of a large institution. Students can choose from more than 60 certificate and degree programs, including strong foundations in Liberal Arts and Agriculture, as well as Career and Technical Education pathways that prepare graduates to step directly into today’s most in-demand industries.
Life at Northeastern goes beyond the classroom. Students are supported by dedicated full-time faculty who also serve as advisors, ensuring personal attention and guidance every step of the way. With residence life and student housing options, athletics, and a thriving performing arts program, students find community, connection, and countless opportunities to get involved.
A highlight of the Northeastern experience is the newly expanded, state-of-the-art Applied Technology Campus, featuring industry-level labs and equipment in wind energy, welding, agriculture, renewable energy, automotive, diesel, and electrical. This facility gives students the chance to learn on industry-level equipment, gaining hands-on skills that translate directly to the workforce.
With campuses in both Sterling and Yuma, Northeastern serves students across five counties in Northeast Colorado—and beyond. Whether you’re looking to transfer seamlessly to any four-year public university in Colorado or gain the expertise to launch your career right away, Northeastern is a place where opportunity, innovation, and community come together.
NJC is where opportunity meets community—proof that on the Plains, there are endless Possibilities.
